How Laser Hair Removal Works for Your Unique Needs

Whether you're looking to target specific areas or enjoy the convenience of not having to shave, Laser Hair Removal is an effective option that's safe for virtually all skin tones & textures.

Unwanted Hair

Lasers emit a highly concentrated laser pulse into the hair follicles. That energy converts to heat which is absorbed by the hair, damaging its chromophores and inhibiting future hair growth.

  • Facial Skin Concerns

How It Works

How it works - step 1How it works - step 2How it works - step 3

Step 1: Laser Treatment

A highly concentrated laser targets the pigment of hair follicles to remove unwanted hair.

Step 2: Targeting Hair Roots

By targeting roots, the laser decreases the blood supply to hair follicles, causing them to become weaker & finer.

Step 3: Inhibition of Hair Growth

The hair follicle chromophores are damaged, inhibiting future hair growth. Hair should begin to fall out approximately 2 weeks later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Laser Hair Removal best for?

Our laser hair treatment is safe for all skin types & tones, but it's ideal for those with darker hair.

Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?

While laser hair removal isn't a 100% permanent solution, it will significantly reduce future hair growth in treated areas. Hair that returns will be sparse, thinner, and possibly lighter. For best results, we recommend maintenance treatments once or twice a year, depending on your unique needs. A great time to come in is around Memorial Day, to get you ready for the summer.

What does it feel like?

While some areas of the body are naturally more sensitive than others, Laser Hair Removal is relatively painless, and often described as feeling like a rubber band snapping against the skin.

Can I get Laser Hair Removal if I'm pregnant?

We recommend avoiding laser hair removal during pregnancy.

Can my teenager get Laser Hair Removal?

We cannot treat anyone under the age of 16, and require parental consent for those aged 16 & 17.

When will I see results?

Hair begins to fall out around 2 weeks after your treatment, but it's very important to complete the recommended amount of treatments for optimal results. Though you'll experience smoother skin after this first treatment, the hair will return, so be sure to follow the recommend amount of sessions to ensure lasting results. Laser hair removal generally requires 6-10 treatments depending on hair growth, hair type and color, and the area of removal. Appointments should be spaced about 4 weeks apart for the face and 6 weeks apart for the body.

What's the downtime?

There's virtually zero downtime—you can go back to work or your daily routine—but you may experience some redness afterward, and must stay out of direct sun for 1 week after.

I'm currently on antibiotics, am I a candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

If you are taking antibiotics for an illness, laser hair treatment may resume 2 weeks after your course is finished.

I have melanin-rich skin. Is this treatment safe for me?

Absolutely! We use the gold standard in Laser Hair Removal devices for melanin-rich skin (Nd:Yag1064), which targets just the melanin in hair, not the skin specifically. Because of that, it's safe for all skin tones, but especially melanin-rich skin.
