How It Works
Step 1: Consultation & Blood Drawing

Your treatment begins with a consultation. Then, your provider will draw your blood.

Step 2: Platelet-Rich Plasma Creation

The blood is spun in a centrifuge, a device that separates concentrations of platelets within the plasma from other elements of the blood—making it ready for your injections.

Step 3: Plasma Injections

Your provider will proceed to artfully inject plasma into your chosen treatment areas to kickstart your body's natural healing process.

Plasma Injections at A Glance

Before Your Treatment
  • Avoid alcohol for 1 week before treatment, as it can make the skin more susceptible to bruising.
  • Avoid aspirin and NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, and Aleve) for 1 week before your treatment, as they may increase the likelihood of bruising.

Consider taking arnica, bromelain, or Tylenol to help alleviate post-treatment swelling and bruising.

If you wear makeup to your appointment, we’ll need to remove it before your treatment.

After Your Treatment

Avoid facials and facial muscle manipulation—such as vigorous rubbing or facial massages—for 2 weeks after treatment.​​

Gently apply Arnica Gel to the treatment area 30 minutes after your session to help reduce bruising.

Avoid lying down for 4 hours after treatment to help prevent swelling.

Sleep on your back with your head elevated the evening after your treatment.

Results

Results will begin to appear 1 month after your initial series of 3 treatments over 3 months, and the full benefits will set in about 2 months after your last treatment.

Frequency

If it’s your first time, we recommend getting this treatment once a month for 3 months. After that, you can do another 2 treatments spaced over the course of 6 months, followed by 2 treatments in 6 months.

Please adhere to these pre-treatment instructions to avoid contraindications.

  • How long do the results last?
    The effects of Plasma Injections last approximately one year, although the effects of the cellular turnover are permanent.
  • What does it feel like?
    You’ll feel a slight stinging sensation at the injection site. Most clients describe this as “pressure” or “pinching.”
  • What treatments can I pair with it?
    Plasma injections work synergistically with other treatments such as Morpheus8 and Clear + Brilliant®. With both, you can get PRP injections immedately after treatment to amplify results.
  • What's the downtime?
    You will experience redness, swelling, and potentially bruising for up to 1-2 weeks after treatment. This will subside within a few days, with full results appearing within 2 weeks.
  • How long does an appointment take?
    Plasma injection treatments take about 45 minutes.
  • Is there bruising?
    Bruising is completely normal, and more common in sensitive injection sites, like the lips. While not everyone bruises, you may experience both bruising and swelling, which can take 1-2 weeks to go away. Therefore, we don't recommend scheduling your appointment right before a big event. You can also take arnica and bromelain pre-treatment to help reduce post-treatment swelling and bruising.
  • When will I see results?

  • Can I get this treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
    No, this treatment is not suitable while pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Can I workout after?
    Plan on getting your workout in before this treatment, and avoid exercise along with other physical activities that make you sweat for 1-2 days after treatment.
