Sculptra® at A Glance

Before Your Treatment
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages, OTC anti-inflammatory medications, and NSAIDs (such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, and Aspirin) for 24-72 hours before your appointment.
After Your Treatment

You may take Tylenol for discomfort, but do not take Ibuprofen (Advil) or other blood thinners.

Use the 5/5/5 rule: massage the area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days to encourage smooth integration of the product.

Avoid laser facials & microneedling treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment.

Avoid alcohol & strenuous activity for 24 to 72 hours.

Results

You can expect to see best results 3 months after completing your series of treatments. These results will gradually increase over a 6 month period, and continue on for up to 2 years.

Collagen production continues to improve for up to 2 years post-treatment, at which point you can discuss renewing your treatment with your provider.

    Sculptra is best for anyone and everyone. It is safe for all skin types, tones, and ages. We recommend it for those looking to address volume loss, boost natural collagen, improve skin quality, and restore a youthful glow. It can also be used for “pre-juvenation,” to help proactively boost collagen.
  • How often should I get a Sculptra®?
    We typically recommend a series of 3 sessions, scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks. Upon completion of this initial series of treatments, the collagen-boosting effects of Sculptra will continue for up to 2 years.
  • How does Sculptra® compare to Dermal Fillers?
    Unlike other fillers, Sculptra is a biostimulatory aesthetic injectable that helps stimulate your own natural collagen production over time, smoothing fine lines & wrinkles, improving skin tone, and revealing a visibly refreshed complexion. Think of it as a natural Dermal Filler.

    While traditional hyaluronic acid Dermal Fillers provide an instant improvement, Sculptra results take some time, as the body needs to produce its own collagen. Collagen production takes 60-90 days to be fully active, so you can expect best results from Sculptra 3 months after your treatment series is complete.
  • Can I get this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
    No, this treatment is not suitable while pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • How long before I will see results?

  • What should I do immediately after treatment?
    To aid any headaches or discomfort you may experience post-treatment, you can take Tylenol (but no NSAIDS, such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, and Aspirin). If the area is sore, you can use ice to soothe. The most important part of post-care is the 5/5/5 rule, explained to you by your provider: massage the area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days to encourage a smooth integration of the product.

    You may apply make-up the following day, but please avoid strenuous activity and drinking alcoholic beverages for 24 to 72 hours post-treatment. You cannot receive laser or microneedling treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment, but more traditional facials (focusing on facial massage) and Hydrafacial are totally fine.
